Kyle McLaren has been acquired by The Philadelphia Flyers from the San Jose Sharks.
Kyle McLaren is 31 years old and has played in 719 NHL games in his career. He was stuck in the minors in a Sharks organization that was stacked on the blueline. He's a physical, stay-at-home blueliner who should give Philly a bit of depth and experience during the stretch drive and the postseason.
The San Francisco Chronicle notes that with this move "only one of the Western Conference Stanley Cup contenders to do nothing Wedenesday (sic) was Detroit, which has loads of talent, cap issues and intermittent confidence in its goaltending."
