Los Angeles Angels Pitcher - Nick Adenhart

Nick Adenhart a 22 year old Los Angeles Angels pitcher is dead. He was killed in a road accident early Thursday morning after he had pitched six shutout innings against the Oakland A's:

The officer just said the driver of the van, Andrew Gallo had caused a deadly accident and also has an arrest past of DUI and at the time of the crash they say they believe he was driving on a suspended license because of a prior drunk driving assurance.

The police officers say someone Andrew Gallo the driver of the van which caused the accident blew through a red light, causing the Mitsubishi that Adenhart and three others were driving in to hit a light pole. Three of the four people in the Mitsubishi were killed in the crash -- Nick, a man and a woman and the fourth person is in the hospital.

The officers say that the person driving the van ran away from the scene, but was trapped and charged with criminal act hit-and-run. The suspect is also being treated for injuries in a local hospital.

Nick was 22 years old and in his last game he had stroked out 5 guys in 6 scoreless innings. His performance was hailed by sportswriters as a "brilliant effort by a 22-year-old right-hander making his fourth Major League start."

The game tonight with the Angels has been canceled. The Fullerton PD and the Angels association are about to address the media at Angels Stadium in Anaheim -- after the team's 22-year old pitcher, Nick Adenhart, and two others died tragically in a car accident this morning.
